The 35 Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF) spread throughout the city are bursting with opportunities for summer family fun from the City of Boston’s spectacular selection of summer youth programs. Check out the 2014 Summer Guide for the low down on everything happening at BCYF between now and September. Every one of BCYF’s special summer events is free to you just for being a fun-loving, local family. So get in on the action. BCYF is kicking off their new season of summer programing with a series of free block parties. BCYF Summer Block Parties held on Thursday evenings in July and August highlight the fun of a different neighborhood each week with swimming, music, games, and yummy cookouts that all ages will enjoy. Next week’s party will be hosted at the BCYF Clougherty Pool on Bunker Hill Street in Charlestown. Get every party on your family’s calendar with the complete schedule available here.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! BCYF also offers free Summer Fun Stops, weekday drop-in programs for 8 to 18 year-olds. Ten of BCYF’s locations run these Summer Fun Stops that include structured games, crafts, and sports every weekday from noon to 6pm. Find the Summer Fun Stop nearest you, here. Even if it is not called a Summer Fun Stop, every one of BCYF’s locations offers free and low-cost activities to keep kids busy all summer long like weekday sports centers, day camps, recreation programs, and sports competitions.
Enjoy exploring BCYF’s hubs for family fun – there’s one around every corner waiting to welcome you!
