Build a Bike in Boston

Boston is biking more than ever and the Dudley Square Bike Club is making it even more fun for teens to get involved. Boston Children’s Hospital, Bikes Not Bombs, and other Boston-based organizations are partnering to pilot the club in Roxbury through mid-November. The club is based at the Yawkey Boys and Girls Club on Warren Street where it meets from 4-7pm twice a week. Head down to Yawkey or call 617-427-6050 to find out how to join in now or be on the lookout for the club to open back up as soon as cycling season starts again the spring. Fun features of the club include:

  • breaking down a bike and building it back up again to get a hands-on perspective into how bicycles work
  • learning the rules of the road, practicing hand signals, and riding safely with traffic
  • exploring the city with other teens on group rides on routes like Washington Street to the Southwest Corridor

Teens won’t want to miss out on one of the coolest new clubs in Roxbury and parents won’t mind the great, new skills their kids learn while being active in their community. Happy cycling, everyone!
