As a resident of the third most walkable city in the country, you do not have to look far to find a destination for winter wellness walks in Boston. This summer we invited you to explore the Esplanade using our tips for getting the most out of the family activities and natural beauty this destination for outdoor play has to offer. Now according to a recent survey, the 3.2 mile loop through the Charles River Esplanade is also Boston’s best winter walk. All you need to do to enjoy the route that other Bostonians are raving about is to bundle up and map a self-guided walk of any length down clear paths, over footbridges, and along the sparkling Charles River.
Looking to stretch your legs, get your heart pumping, and build some heat on a brisk group walk? Join a community of walkers who won’t be cooped up in the house when it’s cold outside at the next free Winter Wellness Walk through Arnold Arboretum on February 9th at 1pm.
For more winter walking destinations, check out Walk Boston’s database of interactive and printable maps that show walking routes you may not have heard of yet in the Boston neighborhoods you love. Along with the fresh air and uncrowded paths, you just might find that winter is your new favorite walking season.
