1. Skating on Frog Pond
Date: January 2020, Tuesday-Sunday 10am-9pm, Mondays 10am-3:45pm
Location: Boston Commons Frog Pond; 38 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02108
Cost: $6-$12 per ticket; free for kids under 58 inches
Ages: All ages
About: Stay active during the winter by skating on Frog Pond! With beautiful scenery and great music playing, kids are sure to have a blast. Skate rentals, lockers, and skating aids available.
Transportation: Accessible via Accessible via the Orange, Green C, and Green D lines. Parking available at the Boston Common Parking garage.
2. Mindful Minis
Date: Thursday, January 9, 2020; 3:30pm-4pm
Location: North End Branch of the Boston Public Library; 25 Parmenter Street, Boston, MA 02113
Ages: Children ages 0-12 (separated by age in class)
About: Kids get to practice mindfulness activities after school with an emphasis on stress-reduction. The program includes coloring activities for younger children, yoga, breathing exercises, and emotional awareness.
Transportation: Limited street parking; accessible via the Green and Blue T Lines.
3. Snowflake Festival
Date: Sunday, January 19th, 2020; 1pm-3pm
Location: Brookline Arts Center, 86 Monmouth Street, Brookline, MA 02446
Ages: All ages
About: Get creative this winter with the Snowflake Festival! Watch a live pottery and puppet show while sipping on some hot cocoa. Kids can try out different projects and crafts in jewelry making, 3D sculptures, comic creation, and more.

4. Family Hike: Evergreens!
Date: Sunday, January 19th, 2020; 2pm-3:30pm
Location: The Arnold Arboretum, 125 Arborway, Boston, MA 02130
Ages: All ages
About: Come out for a family hike at the Arnold Arboretum! Kids get to learn about winter plants and foliage, with a special focus on evergreen trees. They’ll be able to collect evergreen needles and cones on the hike for a mini experiment with microscopes.
Transportation: Accessible by the Orange T line. Parking is available near main entrance and along the Arboretum’s perimeter.
5. Little Groove
Date: Tuesday, January 28th, 2020; 10:30am-11:30am
Location: Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library, 179 Main St, Charlestown, MA 02129
Ages: Children ages 3 months – 6 years
About: Enjoy music with your young one at Boston Public Library’s Little Groove class! Teachers sing and play guitar, encouraging toddlers and young children to dance and reach important physical developmental milestones.
