Make the transition from summer to school easier with some organization and preparation. Planning ahead will also leave more time for family activities and fun throughout the week! Here are some tips to help you out:
- Try to get kids back on a normal sleep and mealtime routine a week before school starts. Be sure your kids get plenty of sleep and eat a healthy breakfast before heading to school each day!
- Set time aside on the weekends to plan for the school week. Set out clothes, check schedules, prepare for the week’s homework, etc.
- Create a calendar with each child’s schedule. Check the schedule at the beginning of each week to be sure you haven’t forgotten any appointments, practices, and meetings.
- Plan and prepare meals in advance. Pack lunches the night before and let older kids help pack their own. Freeze a few easy, healthy dinners ahead of time for quick preparation on a busy week. Check out the recipe section for some fast, healthy lunch and dinner options.
